School of Libray and Information Management (SLIM)
Emporia State University has the oldest school of library and information studies in the western half of the United States. Founded in 1902, the School of Library and Information Management, better known as SLIM, serves a twelve state area with weekend intensive classes in Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Kansas City, and Emporia. SLIM also offers online courses. Tradition and innovation form the foundation of a friendly and supportive learning environment with a reputation for graduating outstanding library leaders and information professionals.

Mission Statement
The School of Library and Information Management is an interdisciplinary, learning-centered program that prepares leaders for the library and information professions.
The goal of the SLIM Master of Library Science program is to prepare creative problem solvers who will provide proactive client-centered services in information agencies.
